Home Pierrepont

Yesterday I took a trip to the Holme Peirrepont open weekend to have a go at some £2 water sports!

So after 2 whole nights of looking forward to getting soaked in some white water rafting, a long drive and an hour searching for my grandparents, we could not wait to get stuck in! Little did we know, everything had been booked up until 5o'clock. Unfortunately we didn't get to join in with the water fun but it was still a great day and everyone in the water seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Luckily, footgolf had a good few openings and we all joined in (yes that is me falling over because someone kicked by ball from under my foot). It was £2 each for a bit of friendly competition and trust me, it is harder than you think, the whole might be bigger but so is the ball and whoever decided to put the flags in the middle needs a talking to. You have to kick the football just right otherwise it just hits the flag pole and bounces out of the whole. Overall I came third with 47 kicks over 9 holes, woop woop, the boys got first and second but poor grandma came last with 77 kicks. Footgolf is incredible fun and a great workout but not recommended on a windy day, especially by water unless you're willing to sprint like Mo Farah. :'D

Saw these cute duckies.

Even though we could not get on any of the water sports we had an absolutely amazing day walking in the sun, taking the ferry across the river and testing our footgolf skills. I would definitely recommend visiting Holme Peirrepont any sunny day of the year but especially on their open weekend which they have every year. You can go with your friends, your partner or your kids, they'll more than likely be something you can all get stuck in with. Next year I'll definitely booking my open day ticket in advance, who knew it would be so popular?

We finished off this day with spectacular tea (not purchased at Holme Peirrepont) and went home with full satisfied bellies.
